Here’s my Days 1-11:

DAY 1 – What is the meaning behind your blog name?

Hubster and I have 3 dogs and they are most definitely our children, so I am a “Dog mom.” And, well, I’m trying to get pregnant. Hence I am “chasing the stork.” 😉

DAY 2 – How did you and your partner decide when you were ready to start trying to conceive?

We knew we ready to go off BC when we got married because it would technically be “ok” (we both come from traditional Chinese families and kids before marriage is a HUGE no-no!), but weren’t quite ready to ATTC. We have traveled a decent amount, attended several music festivals and even more brewfests, and our home life had settled down quite a bit (except the addition of the 3rd puppy, but we knew within the year he would calm down some- which he has in the last year!). Since we eloped 3 weeks after getting engaged, we thought we should at least make it to our giant reception four months later without getting pregnant. Mostly because we both wanted to drink and have a good time celebrating with 200 guests!

DAY 3:  What is in your handbag?

Too much to list, but I’ll try! Kindle, “everyday” makeup bag (powder &brush, tweezers, nail clippers, nail file, travel set of eye shadows/brow shadow/powder liner, mascara and applicable brushes) because I do my makeup in the car every morning while Hubster navigates traffic, 24oz water bottle, usually my 16oz travel mug, sunglasses (in a HUGE but pretty green Kate Spade case), lotion, lip balm, lip gloss, wallet, extra cell phone battery, snacks, and usually Hubster’s wallet and sunglasses.

DAY 4 – Besides Mother’s Day, what is the toughest holiday for you as an infertile?

Christmas. I, like most of you, felt the pangs of sadness while decorating because I had no idea when or if I would have more stockings to hang and new Christmas traditions for our family.

DAY 5:  List 15 facts about yourself.

1. I want to save the world, but sold out for decent pay, job-security and great benefits to be a State worker- though I do help teachers and some of those save little parts of the world, so it kind of counts right?!?

2. I am married to a “Man-child.”

3. I ran cross country in high school and have only managed to run as far as a half-marathon 3 years ago. So far.

4. I decided last week to train for a marathon. I’ll either run one this December or next June, depending on the BabyMaking. But I will do one of the two.

5. I used to be fluent in Spanish, though I can’t speak Chinese, and I’m half White, half Chinese…

6. Don’t Wake Daddy is my favorite drinking game!

7. I used to be an avid scrapbooker and recently switched to digital

8. I heart my KitchenAid stand mixer. I have used it to bake a total of 22 dozen cookies between two occasions.

9. I’m NOT very “domesticated” other than cleaning. Hubster does almost all of the cooking and all I can bake are cookies! I’m working on it though. 😉

10. My favorite color is purple.

11. I can’t live without dairy- especially cheese and ice cream.

12. I “invested” in a set of Shellac nail polishes and UV lamp.

13. I am uber upset that I couldn’t get tickets to Coachella Music Festival this year even though both Hubster and I were online at 10am the day they went on sale.

14. I’m 5’4 and my feet are size 9!!!! HUbster is 5’10 and he wears a 12! Our poor future-kids!

15. I gave up cable over a year ago and happily live off of Hulu, Netflix, Amazon tv and Redbox!

DAY 6:  Talk about how you chose your RE (Reproductive Endocrinologist).

I changed health systems because we had already toured the maternity wards in all of the hospitals our insurance covers (we naively thought we’d get pregnant right away) and decided on the perfect one. After our failed attempts with Clomid and my PCP leaving, I decided it was time for THE change. And luckily the new health system teamed up with a great fertility clinic! My RE has great reviews and stats and works for my health system so all of my Endo & PCOS stuff will be fully covered.

DAY 7:  What is in your makeup bag?

Foundation & brush, powder & brush, several eyeshadow pallats, blushes, mascara, lash curler, eyebrow shadows, powder eyeliners, and lots of brushes

DAY 8:  If an observant stranger were to walk into your house, what clues could lead them to believe that you have struggled with infertility (fertility)?

The boxes of diapers and wipes in the closet, with no other baby items, boxes of OPKs and HPTs, Taking Charge of Your Fertility, and The Conception Chronicles.

DAY 9:  If you won the lottery what would you blow your money on (after charity and bills, of course)?  List 10 things you would buy or spend money on.

1. 3 vacation homes

2. dream home

3. 2 boats (big one we can travel in and small to jet around in)

4. RV

5. personal trainer

6. live-in housekeeper/cook

7. dog trainer

8. take friends on amazing vacation

9. give some to our families

10. gardener

DAY 10:  If you are no yet pregnant/a parent: What are you MOST and LEAST looking forward to after that first beta?

MOST: the feeling of relief that i could actually get pregnant

LEAST: the all-consuming anxiety I anticipate having about losing my pregnancy

DAY 11:  Where do you like to shop?

Target, Amazon, Ulta, Old Navy

Whew!!! We made it! Thanks for sticking with me. 😉

    • Yeah and it was soooooo much fun! Even though I sometimes kick myself for waiting to start treatment, I am glad I want on clomid at our celebration! I’ll have to post a link to the video of our FlipBook station! 🙂
