Cycle Update

Yesterday’s CD11 ultrasound was very well-timed!  I already had one 18.5mm folly on the left and a ton of follies on the right! There was a 22mm, 10.5mm and 2 measuring 9mm, with a lining thickness of 8.5.  Dr. RE advised me to trigger last night and reminded us of the 8% chance of twins this month.  So we were excited, planned out our TI schedule and then went about our day.  Later I realized I would be ovulating tomorrow. That happened to be the day of the long-awaited LMFAO concert!!!!!!! NOOOOO! I don’t care if you laugh, but I’ve seen videos of their shows and they are SO. MUCH. FUN! I was distraught when I realized the timing of my ovulation. You know the pain of stimulated ovulation, well an energetic concert with everyone jumping and dancing around you is not the place to be right after you ovulate! Even as excited as I’ve been, I know I wouldn’t be able to enjoy myself in that environment. Then Hubster and I came up with the plan to wait until this morning to trigger so I can go and while I can’t jump around the whole time, I can definitely get my chair-dance on!

So hopefully waiting about 12 hours doesn’t hurt anything.  Everything else has gone so well this cycle that I’m a little nervous we screwed it up…

We had GREAT sexytime last night after I had a couple of glasses of wine so I think some more wine tonight will be good. 🙂 I also finally went back to acupuncture after two and a half weeks and hopefully my hormones will get regulated again and he’ll help my ovulation pain on Friday. So I’m excited about this cycle again. 🙂

Thanks so much for all of your well wishes and support when I was feeling low the other day. You don’t know how uplifted my spirits were reading each of your comments. Seriously, this community saves me every month.

To those of you with Blogger accounts- most of the people I follow on Blogger don’t have any way for me to follow their blogs by email so I don’t keep as updated with your blogs as I’d like. I forget to check my Blogger Dashboard often. I’m so sorry!!!!

Hopefully I’ll be able to take some awesome videos of the show tomorrow to share with all of you. Shake your heads, I don’t care. It’s gonna be sooooo much fun!

  1. Can your follicles come teach my follicles how to respond like that? Sigh. Anyway, have fun at the concert. I’m keeping my fingers crossed for you this cycle!

    • Haha they would love to be of assistance! It took them long enough to learn in their own. They’re responding better on 50mg than on 100! Anyway, thanks! I’m soooooo excited for the show!!! 🙂

  2. Have fun at the concert!

12 hours shouldn’t change anything, even if you started ovulating on your own you could take the shot. Good luck!!

    • I always wondered about that. If I do the shot, is there any chance I will ovulate earlier than the 40 ish hours later?

Glad to know I haven’t screwed anything up though! Thanks!

  3. Question how many cycles did you do clomid before you started using the trigger shot? I am only on my second cycle but my obg hasn’t mentioned a trigger shot. Just wondering because because it sounds amazing to actually stimulate the O. Good luck!

    • I didn’t start triggering until I went to a RE. I did 4 cycles with an OB/Gyn with no trigger. I do gave to admit that taking the guesswork out of ovulation is a relief, but also a double-edged sword. It puts more pressure on the timed intercourse and sometimes that didn’t work out too well for us…

  4. Now Ive got a question – Would you recommend staying with your gynae or going to a specialist? On my 4th month of Fertomid (Chlomids generic) and starting to feel that he isnt doing all he can to assist us getting pregnant…Ive never had any trigger shots or anything.

    • it depends on your history and how you respond to the meds. i think that you’ll get better treatment and monitoring through a RE, but since I don’t really know much about the physical issues you face and what you’ve done, I can’t really recommend anything. The only thing I can say is don’t do more than 4-6 months of clomid unless you’re seeing a RE. Sorry. 😦 have you thought about adding a timeline of your TTC journey to your blog? 🙂

      • Thanks…Im on my 4th month now, hence my trip to the gynae end of the month to start pushing for more active measures. I have thought of a time line, still working out how the whole blogging page works though. Its been 2 years,4 months and 12 days of ttc (I cant remember what I did 2 days ago but that number is constantly rolling in my head!).Thanks for the advise!
