On May 19, 2013, I finished my very first marathon. In 5:27. Not the time I wanted, but I learned a lot.
I started my period the day after. I had mixed feelings about my very first marathon and it wasn’t until January 2014 that I could accept the phrase, “Celebrate the finish line, not the finish time.”
I am now proud of myself and celebrate that my body did what most others won’t even attempt. Training and racing completely changed my life and gave me more confidence than anything else could. I am also now able to dream big dreams and not let fear stop me from achieving my goals. I also have something besides babymaking to focus on and it provides a great source of distraction for my controlling ways.
Love you all and thanks for your support.
